Alrighty then, so here is the first recipe for July. I know its getting a little late in the month but there was so much going on that it was hard to find the time to bake these casseroles.
July's cookbook is Taste of Home Casseroles.
Turkey Asparagus Casserole
1 package (10 oz) frozen asparagus
2cups cubed cooked turkey or chicken
1 can (10 3/4 oz) cream of chicken soup
1/4 cup water
1 can (2.8 oz) french-fried onions.
In a small saucepan, cook asparagus in a small amount of water for 2 minutes; drain. Place in a greased 11 x 7 x 2 baking dish. Top with turkey. Combine soup and water; mix well and spoon over turkey. Bake uncovered at 375 for 25-30 minutes. Sprinkle with onion and bake for 5 minutes longer or until golden brown,
Serves 4
My only bad comment was this tasted really salty. I am thinking it was due to the french-fried onions. The taste was really good. It was a bit runny but I don't think it was created with being frozen in mind. Loved it and will definitely make this again.
